Bring outside in…

This weekend sees the clocks being put back an hour, which in turn means darker evenings earlier, lighter mornings but limited time to see what’s going on outside!
From a safety point of view, children walking from and to school can still do so in daylight, but for those who commute to a place of work often find themselves leaving for work in the dark and arriving home in the dark.
In fact, it is believed that the Monday commute home, following the Sunday when the clocks go back to be one of the worst for accidents, largely attributed to it suddenly being dark.
Whilst we can’t stop the darker mornings and evenings, bringing a little of the outside into our homes may just soften the impact during these duller months.
Getting a good night’s sleep and waking up feeling refreshed is imperative to our health and wellbeing, but during the darker months, getting up can be a chore!
One of the best ways to feel invigorated each morning, regardless of how dark it is outside is to have a routine. And whatever order you chose, your bathroom routine should be about so much more than just being in the shower by 6.30am.
A tidy bathroom… a tidy mind
Not only should your bathroom be inviting and welcoming, but it should be tidy too. Ensure that you have plenty of storage for cosmetics, toiletries and towels and start the day with a clear head.
Choose pretty accessories
Keep worksurfaces in your bathroom free from clutter, with just a few pretty accessories to make it feel homely.
Keep houseplants in your bathroom
If you have space for them, keep a couple of houseplants that thrive in more humid conditions in your bathroom. Not only will they bring a bit of the outdoors in, but they will oxygenate the room, ideal in the colder months when you are less likely to open the windows and let fresh air in.
Consider wallpaper?
But if you’re not a lover of houseplants, or perhaps they don’t like you, consider adding a feature wallpaper with a leafy green design?
Whether you prefer tropical themed, classic cheeseplants or fronds and ferns, there’s plenty to choose from.
Now’s the time to energize your bathroom and energize you too!
